Albania's former ambassador to Germany, Bashkim Zeneli says that Germany has strongly supported Albania but it does flatter any country. In a newspaper interview he comments the Berlin summit, which brought together leaders of the Western Balkan countries.

"Germany has been and will be strictly when it comes to democratic parameters in Albania. They don't flatter anyone. This is a huge responsibility for the political class, "says Zeneli.

He says that despite the assistance given by Germany, German businesses have had difficulty penetrating Albanian market.

"I left Germany some time ago, but I can say that today we do not have a strong presence of German firms in Albania, while the German government donations have been around 1 billion euros. I'm gonna give you a particular case. The Rinas concession lasted nearly eight years, when the entrepreneur of this concession was Siemens. Krupp-Thysen has tried to enter Albania's mining sector. They have failed! The same for Manesman German Telekom, Siemens, etc. "he said. /albeu.com/
