The Balkans get 600 million euros in the summit of Vienna

The summit of the Western Balkan countries in Vienna attended by senior officials of the EU, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Werner Faymann from Austria and the prime ministers of Kosovo, Albania, Serbia, Macedonia, Montenegro and Bosnia Herzegovina ended today, with the decision to give to the Balkan countries 600 million euros for projects in energy, road and rail transport. The confirm came from the Austrian Deputy Chancellor who is also Minister of Economy.

He said that the summit confirmed the 24 projects that will be implemented over the coming years while their value is 7.7 billion euros.

After the summit, which also discussed the refugee crisis, Chancellor Angela Merkel, Commissioner Johannes Hahn, Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, spoke with journalists.

Merkel mentioned the Pristina-Belgrade agreement, which according to her is very encouraging while stressing that Serbia will not have new conditions on the road towards the EU.

"Europe is a rich continent and the world is looking at us while the migrant problem needs to be solved with the help of everyone", said Merkel. /
