European Commission approves the text of the Stabilization and Association Agreement between the European Union and Kosovo. The agreement will now go to the Council, ie the Member States to take a decision on signing the agreement.

After the Council, with the "OK" of all 28 member states, foreign policy chief of the EU, Federica Mogherini, will sign the agreement on behalf of the EU, and on behalf of Kosovo, the government will be the one to sign.

EU sources say the deal has a European character, which means it does not need to be signed by all member states, but on behalf of the EU High Representative reports Radio Free Europe.

Also it said that the text of the agreement makes it clear that the European Union remains neutral on Kosovo's status, and does not prejudge in any way the position of member states to the status.

On the other hand, the Stabilization and Association Agreement is considered key to Kosovo's relations with the EU regarding politics and trade exchange. According to the EU, the agreement will be signed during the summer, ie June, while it will enter into force in 2016. /
