Just one day before the visit of the Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias, Athens has reacted to the statements regarding the Albanian Cham issue.

Albanian minister Ditmir Bushati and PM Edi Rama commented yesterday the issue, raising tensions between countries.

Athens wants to show that the "Albanian expansion in the Balkans" can not remain without her reply.

In an official statement, the Greek government dismisses claims about the existence of the Cham issue and historical facts that, according to Tirana, are stamped with court decisions and are neither debated nor discussed.

Athens reminds Tirana to continue its European path and respect the five basic principles of the European Union, where one of them is the respect of the law and court decisions, therefore, respect of the judicial decisions, especially when it comes to war criminals, as Athens considers Chams deported in 1920-1944, and besides that, Tirana should to respect the rights of the local Greek community in Albania. /albeu.com/
