Deputy Prime Minister Niko Peleshi stated that the government will take several measures to prevent violence against children.

According to Peleshi, the government has not only the necessary sensitivity to combat this phenomenon, but also a determination to move to the end, by working with all the necessary links.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Social Welfare and Youth, Erion Veliaj, gave an overview of the situation of children who are in the streets, without excluding cases of violence involving children experiencing parental divorce.

''One of the things that you would never enjoy in Tirana is the terrible situation of children who live in the streets today. About 1400 children are in residential institutions, 220 is the number of cases of children at risk reported only recently, and this figure does no include cases of rape or physical and emotional violence,'' declared Veliaj, adding that the issue of pedophilia is still a taboo, but it needs to be urgently addressed./
