Prime Minister of the federal state of Lower Saxony, Stephan Weil, requested the acceleration of the procedures for handling asylum requests coming from the citizens of Kosovo.

"99 % of the claims are rejected", he said to "Hannover Presse", "albinfo" reports.

Stephan Weil has criticized the fact that the treatment of these requirements takes more than a year, although asylum seekers know that they have no right to asylum in Germany.

"We should handle their request in the first three months. This way we can reduce the number of asylum seekers from the Balkans", said the Prime Minister of the federal state.

In recent months the number of asylum seekers from countries like Kosovo, Albania and Serbia has increased massively.

On May 8th German Chancellor Angela Merkel will host a high-level meeting, where the topic of discussion will be the costs of accommodation and integration of refugees. /albeu.com/
