In the first meeting of the Parliamentary Group after the local elections, Lulzim Basha said that the elections failed to be free and that violence and threats undermined the process.

"All state structures, especially the police, was part of a campaign of violence, arrests, threats and mistreatment all over the country.

The administration was under pressure. The votes were bought with public funds money, and forged identity cards were also seized" said Basha.

"Rama-Meta decided to let incriminated persons run in many municipalities and pressured ordinary citizens, those who vote for the DP.

Arben Frroku, among them, was involved in a campaign for the SP in Puka, who in return got the right to leave the country only a few days before the decision of the Court of Appeal who sentenced him to life in prison," the opposition leader added.

Basha said that "there were pressures and threats against candidates to be part of the city council, as well as violence against the opposition". /
