Former General Inspector of the Bank of Albania, Teuta Baleta testified today in front of the Economic Commission over the theft scandal in the Central Bank where over 7 million dollars were stolen.

During her reporting, she suggested that they interfered in her competences as General Inspector.

"The plan for meeting the objectives encountered obstacles. The audit must be independent. There were some problems, the training program for inspector was not implemented and it was the IMF recommendation. There were delays in the restructuring of the Department of Control for 1 year and a half without explanation.

I have been lacking in human resources, sources in the Department of Control were also limited, also limited access to information for control inspectors. There was interference, independence was affected, "she said. /albeu.com/
