Albania will lead from today for 6 months the presidency of Council of Europe. The ceremony of consign from United Kingdom to Albania will take place today in the residency of Council of Europe in Strasbourg, reports albanian informative portal Albeu.com.

In his role of President of the Committee of Ministers of Council of Europe, deputy prime-minister Mr. Edmond Haxhinasto will present the priorities and activities of the first Albanian presidency of this important politic organ.

Part of the delegation will be Mr.Ilir Rusmajli, head of Albanian parliamentary delegation in the Assembly of Parliament of CoE and Mr. Ferdinand Poni deputy minister of Ministry of Interior.

Albania will lead the presidency for the first time after the membership on July 13th 1995 .The period in wich Albania will be the voice of 47 members will be starting from May 23, 2012 till 9th of November. /albeu.com/
