Albania and Macedonia together against terrorism

Albania and Macedonia will intensify cooperation in the fight against organized crime, terrorism and trafficking. Today Interior Minister Samir Tahiri met his Macedonian counterpart in Tirana.

Tahiri said that they signed the protocol on police cooperation during the tourist season, and both parties will do the patrolling.

"We exchanged opinions on crime, fight against trafficking and terrorism, considering institutional co- operation between our two countries as an essential element to achieve results within the common challenges that we have not only in European integration but also to concrete results in the fight against crime, drug trafficking but also against religious and ethnic terrorism. A challenge that is regional and global. We signed a protocol of cooperation which includes police cooperation in the tourist season, to have joint patrols on the road. It is a successful practice with Kosovo", Tahiri said.

While Macedonian Minister appreciated the cooperation with Albania, expressing willingness to cooperate against terrorism and organized crime.

"We will form groups that will exchange information and fight organized crime and terrorism,"said Minister Gordana Jankulovska. /
