The International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in The Hague declared the ultra-nationalist Serbian politician, Vojislav Seselj innocent on all charges. The decision was unanimous only on one count in a total of nine.

Seselj was accused of war crimes in Croatia and Bosnia from August 1991 to September 1993. The charges involved persecutions on political, racial or religious grounds, forcible deportation, murder, torture, destruction of cultural heritage and educational infrastructure etc. The Prosecution asked for 28 years imprisonment for his role in ethnic cleansing, but today he walked free.

Albanian foreign minister Ditmir Bushati said that this was bad news for the justice system and the victims, while former MP of the Parliament of Kosovo, Mimoza Kusari Lila said that the UN War crimes court can serve for anything except for justice. /albeu.com/
