A condition imposed by Serbia has blocked the operation of the interconnection line between Albania and Kosovo. Although it was inaugurated on June 28th, the line has never been used.

The Head of the Transmission System Operator, Engjell Zeqo, said in interview to TV Klan that Belgrade wants a Serbian company for the energy delivery in Mitrovica.

This condition is proving to be costly for both Albania and Kosovo, which continue to pay the loan installments for the investment of 75.5 million euros.

Albania's loss from this project is more than money, because first of all this has to do with energy security.

In moments of crisis, access through high-voltage lines, like the one with Kosovo, allows our country to by energy cheaper and faster. /albeu.com/
