Chairman of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha met today with the new Ambassador of the OSCE presence in Albania, Bernd Borchardt. Basha made a presentation on the serious situation in the country with special emphasis on the need to ensure the conditions for the forthcoming elections.
Basha said that Rama has refused the DP's proposal over the electoral reform. He said that the reform was delayed intentionally, to disable the electronic voting that would avoid vote buying.
Basha said also that private donations to parties and 100 % state financing should be considered crimes. The connections between crime and politics, money obtained from trafficking, crime and corruption are destroying the political process in Albania, Basha said.
The elections of 2015 in Dibra, showed that Rama will use drug money and criminal networks to buy votes in the next elections, while crime would acquire political power. This poses the greatest risk for future elections, said Mr. Basha. /Albeu.com/
